McAfee: A Proven Leader in Protecting Your PC From All Threats

If you own a PC, chances are you have been infected with a virus at some time or another. It's pretty commonplace nowadays. In the early PC days, most viruses were little more than a prank. Nothing dangerous. Now just as computers have gotten a lot more sophisticated ...so have the viruses. Add malware and adware to the mix, and it's open season on all PC's. Without protection, your PC is vulnerable to cyber thieves looking to clean out your bank account, steal your identity, and enjoy wonderful shopping sprees ... courtesy of you! Thankfully, there is a way to protect yourself with anti-virus software.

There Are Several Anti-Virus Protection Products Available ... Which One Should You Choose? That depends on what your needs are. But basically anti-virus protection should provide a certain level of protection, it should be easy to use, and it should protect your computer as advertised. There are several anti-virus programs that fit this criteria. We chose a proven leader in the area of PC security ... McAfee. They've been around for almost 25 years. So let's take a look at the benefits of McAfee anti-virus protection software.

Today's PCs Are A Lot More Sophisticated ... Do You Really Need Anti-Virus Protection? Absolutely! ... You wouldn't leave your car unlocked with the key in the ignition...would you? If you spend anytime on the internet checking email, surfing, paying bills, Facebook, banking etc...you need anti-virus protection. Cyber thieves can infect your computer with a virus without your knowledge. They can use all of the above mentioned activities to do so. One click of an infected link and within seconds a virus can take over. A thief can now access all of your banking and credit card information. It's much easier to do than you may realize. McAfee can protect your computer by blocking the virus before it can infect your PC.

So What Other Benefits Does McAfee Offer? If you've got kids, chances are they like spending a lot of time online. Playing games, watching videos and surfing around. They most likely visit a lot of gaming sites with free downloads. Although there are several legitimate gaming sites, there are just as many that include viruses in the game downloads. McAfee anti-virus can recognize suspicious files in real time and block the virus before it can harm your PC.

Shopping Online Can Be Risky. Another benefit to using McAfee anti-virus is a very cool feature that helps protect you from bad websites. For example, when you search online McAfee will show you a color code to let you know if the site is safe or not. Some sites infect your PC the moment you click on their url. With McAfee, you will know before hand if it's safe to proceed or not.

McAfee Puts A Deadbolt Lock On Your Computer ... Well Almost! McAfee uses a "double layer" of security in the form of extra secure firewall protection. Essentially, this keeps thieves from breaking into your PC and helping themselves to your personal information. This means you can feel more confident that your banking and credit card information are safe. Spyware is a huge dangerous threat to your PC. Once your computer is infected with spyware a thief can monitor everything you do on your computer...EVERYTHING! McAfee has the capability of blocking spyware often found in browsers for example.

Protect Your Computer From Bot Net Software, USB Infections And Pre-Install Viruses! ... Uh? It's okay if you have no idea what all the above techo babble means. In a nutshell, McAfee blocks the bad guys from accessing your computer remotely, blocks and removes viruses and other malware from removable USB drives, and removes any virus that may be found in software installs.

McAfee Destroys Files So You Don't Have To! What? There may come a time when you want sell or give your PC away. Just hitting the delete button to remove your personal information is not enough. Someone could still access those files on your hard drive. McAfee anti-virus has a digital data shredder. This will completely remove those files from your PC.

Easy To Navigate. McAfee has a very easy to use interface. New users should be able to use it very easily.

While McAfee Anti-Virus Protection Is An Excellent Choice ... It's Not Perfect. When compared to other anti-virus protection software on the market ... McAfee stands up very well. However, there is room for improvement. Like several other top anti-virus software, some users notice it uses a lot of system resources and slows their PC down. Others have not had this problem. This seems to be a problem that varies from user to user but still worth keeping in mind.

McAfee provides excellent anti-virus protection. It has all the capabilities needed to keep your PC protected against most viruses, adware, spyware and malware.
